Production Reference

Lay out a solid or engineered hardwood floor, get a carton-based take-off, fasteners/adhesive/underlayment by install method, and a cost estimate. The board-by-board cut list is the Pro add-on. Product-specific coverage and installation assumptions remain user-editable planning inputs.

01 Room

Boards install perpendicular to joists by default. Enter feet/inches like 12' 6".

02 Product

Take-off uses coverage width (nominal − T&G overlap), not nominal.

03 Layout

Area/carton take-off is angle-independent. Exact board counts are shown only for axis-aligned straight layouts.
Gap default ½" — sits under most baseboard + shoe. Mfrs often spec ¾"; verify against your trim reveal. No H-joints; 3-course stagger step.

04 Install method

Cleats/staples 6–8" o.c. + 2–3" from ends — verify to NWFA / mfr.

05 SKU & pricing

Flooring is sold by the carton — order rounds up to whole cartons.
